hi i wanted to know why the beach skin or the 365 skin wont work on messenger 9 i know it is only compatable with 8.5 but i would prefer to use 9.0 but wont till they start adding more skins like the 365 or beach skin then i will upgrade untill then im staying at 8.5 please can you tell me when this will be changing and also why is it on messenger 9 i cant send a nudge to my friend when she is not on it all greyed out where as on messenger it tells you you cant send one but is still highlighted up
on 8.5 please let me know when the realise is ready for messenger 9.0 as i prefer that it ashame that the gifs dont work on 8.5

1) you shouldn't be using skins with 9.0 anyway (afaik it's not public yet, correct me if i'm wrong)
2) some developers don't bother to update their skins for beta's, because of all the hassle, and it's just generally not worthwhile.

skins for 9.0 beta are hardly created and the 9.0 version will be realized in 2009. So if you want to use 9.0, you can only use the skins that are compatible with it such as smile a mile.

so why dont the gif display pictures  work for 8.5 but do for the 9.0  it not fair

Because the Gif display pictures are a new feature in 9.0, therefore most of your contacts wont see it moving unless they too have 9.0. you have to weigh pros and cons, and make a choice that fits you. (please note that Dynamic display picture Do work with 8.5 and 9.0)

mine dont i have gifs of roses opening and closing but when i use them as display pictures they are stationary not mving why is ths and how do i change it if they do work please help

Maybe because you are not a BETA tester, you may have a version that is not good or updated. That is what I think.

where do i find a good version of windows live messenger 8.5 from them as i down loaded the link off this site

One, proper punctuation is appreciated (run-ons make it harder to concentrate on what you're saying).

Two, 9.0 is a BETA = not every thing will work properly. They're still working on the bugs and want people to TEST them. Betas are generally not for your normal user because they're not finished products and therefore not as user-friendly.

Three, If you want to bring up problems about 9.0 functionality put it in the proper help forum (which happens to be here or even better yet the WLM forum ). This the SKINNING section for PLUS! so bring this up elsewhere. What you're doing now is going offtopic since this is for skins, not to complain about 8.5/9.0 unfairness.

@Bassilis...the Beta Testing thing you see here is for Plus!, not the actual messenger so yah, she is considered a "beta tester" for 9.0 if she downloaded it.

EDIT: However, you do have a point...the beta would be coming out in different versions and if you're not up to date with their postings you could have a inferior version of 9.0
