O.P. [Suggestion] Sound Packages
I have been testing out various IM programs over the past few days to get ideas for skins / features etc to try and add into a MP!L skin I am in the process of making.

Anyways, one thing I noticed in a few IM programs is the ability to apply custom sounds to new messages, sign in, etc. Before you tell me that WLM can do this, I know that you can apply custom MP3/WAV files to specific sounds. But being a Plus! user, I like things more customizable than what WLM offers ;).

So with that said, I think that having the ability to apply "Sound Packages" (like we can apply skins / scripts) would be a nice feature for Plus! to implement.

What would make this different to the way WLM does it you ask? Well, a few things come to mind:

1. We could have a database with 1 file download-and-apply sound sets (ex. movie sounds, video game sounds, etc)

2. Instantly changes all sounds instead of doing each one by one.

3. More sounds to customize than WLM allows (see below)

4. Could make skins more 'complete' (eg. Batman Skin > Batman Sounds etc)

So back to #3. In WLM we can change the following sounds:
- Outgoing Phone Ring
- Voice Call
- Voice Clip Finished
- Nudge
- New Alert
- New Mail
- New Message
- Contact Online

I think it would be nice to also change sounds for the following:
- Signing on to WLM (played once contact window appears)
- Signing off of WLM (played when clicking to sign out)
- File Transfer Request
- File Transfer Canceled
- File Transfer Complete
- New Message (when previous new message HASN'T been answered yet)
- Message Sent
- Contact becomes [status] (busy / away etc, each defined separate?)
- Contact comes back from being [status] (busy / away etc, each defined separate?)
- Contact joins group convo
- Contact leaves group convo
- Any errors that may happen
- Message not sent through
- Minimizing WLM
- Maximizing WLM
- Contact Signs Out

I know some of the above sounds ARE possible to change for every contact all at once with Plus!'s built in sound applier, but I am thinking on an overall package of related sounds. Also, we could maybe have the option on wither or not our manually defined sounds take priority over a sound package.

So what do you think? Ideas for improvement / suggestions?

Thanks for reading :D

This is something which could be done with a script, most of the events at least, but I think its a good idea (Y)
SoundPacks   -   Scripts   -   Skins

that's not a bug, thats an unexpected feature

If I were any good at scripting, I would give it a shot for sure, and upon thinking about it, I don't know if it would be THAT hard actually. Creating an option to import/export sound packages might be hard for me to do tho lol. Might try and give it a shot after reading some documentation...

I'll take a look at doing something with it, as it could be a good service to run from MPSounds.net, as there is already quite a few sounds there!

Sounds like a plan! I am in the process of trying to make it into a script too, but I am sure you'd be able to get something pretty spectacular up and running.

It would still be nice to have as a native feature in Plus! however ;)..

It would be much better built-in yea, but until if/when that happens, a script would be a good in-between measure :)
