A 9800GT is just an 8800GT with triple SLI support.

All I will say on the matter.

Still, like I said it's up to me what I buy, I happen to like alienware and have wanted one for a long time...

Agreed, sometimes I feel like buying something for the sake of buying it, or that I have wanted it for a long time. At that point, the cost is immaterial to me .
