RE: Samsung i900 Omnia
My dad has it. It's the same as every other WiMo phone. :P

I have the HTC Touch Pro and my dad agrees with me that it's better, It has a proper qwerty keyboard and a nicer interface(once you remove the crappy Manilla themes providers install and use the proper HTC one anyway ;p)

The camera on the Omnia isn't that great either, the lens isn't great and reduces it's photo quality(may not be a problem for you if your not worried about it:P)

Other things I can think of: Screens bigger on Omnia which is nice.

Like most things, depends what you're using it for/looking for.

Oh also, if you plan on using the internet on it make sure you get a data plan else you'll be wasting a fortune =p

If your looking for data plans with phones th3rmal, head towards Three Mobile, seem to be the best option, but dunno if they work with the phone you want -shrug-

yea my carrier is going to be 3. I checked and for about $8 a month i can get about 100mb of usage, or for $12 a month i can get 200mb, but im already at the limit of how-much-im-going-to-spend-on-this-phone so going to see if i can include the data plan on my cap :P

Also, not sure if your aware (I'm only letting you know as I'm on 3 myself) at the moment you only get Metro area coverage. However, from what I know and have heard, 3 and Telstra have a deal for 3 customers to use the Next G network outside of the Metro area from about mid way through this year (of course depending on many other things). This will boost 3's coverage to about 95% of Australia coverage. Thus allowing customers to use 3G features in most parts of Australia.

However the catch from what I hear is, to get all 3G coverage (Telstra and 3 mobile) you have to have a phone that can use the NextG Frequency of 850Mhz and the 2100Mhz frequency used by 3. Otherwise you'll just head back to Telstra's 2G network which is how it is now.

Also the X-Series plans, 2 of which you have briefly mentioned, include some good stuff as well like 4000 mins of Skype to Skype Calls and on the $12 (which is what I'm on for X-Series) you get things like Messenger (Both Windows Live and Yahoo) and extra little bonuses as well.

Hope this is helpful in some way :)

Im not particularly worried about the coverage, but i guess more coverage cant hurt :P

This phone does operate on the 2100Mhz frequency :)

I only want it for mobile web, as i dont use skype anyway, but i just called them and they said that it cannot be used as a part of your cap plan :( which means ill have to pay for my cap plan and then $8 a month extra for mobile web :/

Thanks for your help
