Can't this time around, Messenger 2009 icon images work different to 8.5's. I'd have to remake the resources so yeah can't be bothered. Just let them go :P quit living in the past.

I love the shadow and the text and the way you have incorporated the chat window into what i suspect is the surrounding border, very well done and look forward to your future work :) But im curious, is it possible for you to turn off scenes and leave the default wave so we can colour the chat window how we would like?

That is already a messenger setting. In the chat window go to "Tools->Use the default Scene"
