RE: Itouch Question
As far as I know, that screen means "Your iPhone/iPod touch needs to be activated within the iTunes program", I guess you have updated it from iTunes even it being jailbroken, or the data inside it went corrupt (happened once in my nano)

I'd try what andrey's result says; put it in recovery mode (turn it off, connect the usb cable again while pressing the home button) so that you can restore it.

Note that restoring it will erase all data, not a problem if you have a backup within iTunes. Also, you'll be able to jailbrake it normally.

Not all firmwares can be Jailbroken easily. It depends on which generation iPod Touch and which firmware it's using.

Actually you are both right. Jailbreak for all current models is possible, but for the new iPod Touches, it's only a (semi)tethered jailbreak. From what I gather, a new exploit has been found but is being kept under wraps so that they can use it in the next revision, whether it is the iPhone or the so called iTablet...

If I upgrade the firmware to 3.1...do I need to re-jailbreak it and re-download all the apps again?
