O.P. can't convert to .plsc?? help needed
hey guys, I've made this script, and it works perfectly in my msn,
but I thought I'd upload it to here, so I wanted to make a .plsc
so I looked it up and followed the instructions; I have my .js file and my scriptinfo.xml in the same folder, and I used winrar to compress them, I changed the .rar into .plsc before compressing, but when i click on the .plsc file created. it says the scriptpackage is damaged.
Have I done something wrong? or did I forgot something?
Or is this a known problem with anyone?

Do not compress it into a .rar, always use .zip. You should have no problems then :)

You can use WinRAR to do this, but then you have to set the Archive Type to ZIP.

However the easiest and fastest way is still to simply create a ZIP file using Windows Explorer itself and then rename the extension. (1)

(1) You need to have "hide known extension" unchecked in the folder options for this.

Also make sure that you zip the actual files, and not the folder the files are contained in.

And that all the files are saved in unicode, not ansi.

Indeed, that is the way I create script packages too as it is the fastest way of all:

1) Open Windows Explorer (you probably have it open anyways if you're scripting and doing stuff with files)
2) Navigate to the script folder
3) Select all the files in that folder which you want in the package
4) Right click and choose "Send To > Compressed folder"
5) Rename the extension from .zip to .plsc.

Of course, you need to have "compressed folder" in the SendTo folder. If you have removed that (for whatever reason), you need to enable native ZIP support again in Windows and add the item back to the sendto menu:
for XP: http://windowsxp.mvps.org/zipfldr.htm
for Vista: http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/65254-zip-file-support-restore.html
For both: http://www.winhelponline.com/articles/5/1/Restore...-Send-To-menu.html
