O.P. i get an instant message pop up but no actual message
i was playing a game and it minimized with a pop up from someone. however, there was no message, no nudge, nothing. it is very important that i find out whether or not this person really did message me or not. any ideas? this is the first time it's happened.

Else you could take a look at the WLM or Plus! chat-logs (that is, if you have them enabled).
But I guess the obvious solution would be to ask your contact about it.
