Did I hear there's a "Who loves Patchou the most" contest? ;o I'd win that.. if Patchou would help me participate with flight tickets *cough*

Congratulations and good luck settling in.  At least you won't have to shovel snow right now (or at least I hope not!)

Why do you need such powerful computers with an aftermarket cooler (which means that you will probably overclock)? :P

How much time does it take to compile Plus! on your home computer?

I spent most of my time deciding on the computer specs that will be used by our future developers, up to the fans specific model (Nexus Real DF1209SL-3). As I couldn't find any pre-built solution that satisfied me (I'm picky), the computers will have to be assembled one by one by hands (probably mine, except if you volunteer); this way, I'll be sure that each computer performs as expected (Intel Core i7-860 for those interested) and conforms to my needs (silence, lots of silence).

EDIT: Oh BTW Patchou: Three monitors is definitely the productivity sweet spot :p.

Yup :). Surprisingly good for the price.

Re-compiling Messenger Plus! takes several minutes. If you do that a hundred time during the day while developing something for it, a better CPU will save you hours. As for the aftermarket cooler, it's not for the overclock but for the silence it offers (stock fans are very noisy)

Yep, and the boss has a better video card, just in case... :p

Jean-Francois and I will have "only" two but the ones I got are very wide (16:9) so I'm pretty sure it will be plenty.

Psh, I have 4 and if I get a DisplayPort to DVI adapter I'll have 5 :zippy:, but 5 won't fit on my desk
