As we remember with the older MSNP protocol and clients you could remove someone from your contact list and (s)he still saw you as online and could contact you.

Now it's not possible - if you delete someone without appearing offline to him/her, you're STILL appearing offline to the other part and are unreachable (offline).

Is there any way you can delete someone without you appearing offline to them?

Edit: maybe with some older client it's possible to do? Though afaik they connect to the same service using the same protocol version.

You should add him again and block him first then delete him

If you want them to see you dont block them, just delete them without blocking

they'll be able to contact you then btw, but you wont be able to open the chat window with them unless they open it

thats for messenger 2009 I'm not sure about 2011.

Yes, i'm using WLM 2011, and with this version if you delete someone WITHOUT blocking him/her, they won't be able to contact nor see you you online.

Should i go back to MSN 2009 then, and try with that?

Edit: to make it more clear once again:

#1 Delete someone WITHOUT blocking him
#2 I don't want to see him in my contact list
#3 I want him to be able to contact me and see me online

So then, if i roll back to WLM2009, try to delete him, go back to WLM2011, will he STILL see me in his contact list? Or WLM2011 detects it and still makes me OFFLINE to him?

I tried with eBuddy and eBuddy Lite also. It fou delete someone without bocking, i'll be offline to him and he can't chat with me.

So it's the mandatory protocol update that does it.
