O.P. How to install earlier versions?
Hi,

I would like to install an earlier version of Windows Live Messenger than the version 2009 (Build 14.0.8117.416) I am using now. When I try to do this, Windows Live forces me to install this newer version which is causing me problems in video/webcam. I would appreciate your advice.

Harry

What kind of problems?

And sorry, it's not possible by normal means, and the "advanced means" will only give you headaches [and probably be not compatible with Plus! or any other add-on].

well, when I start a video session, the receiver can see what is going from my end, but I cannot see what I send over (there is a cross sign in my video screen box). Another problem is, when someone sends me webcam picgtures from an old MSN version (e.g. Version 7), I cannot receive it.

What does this have to do with the thread or even the post for that matter of fact?

As for the issues, when you run the Audio and Video Setup wizard do you see a preview of your webcam on the second page of the wizard?

Yes Matty,

I do see my own picture in the audio/video set up, and when I run the webcam separately. I also see the video sent by any sender using recent versions of the Windows Live Messenger.
