there is all kind of advertisements on bottom of Windows Live messenger window and driving me nuts with pop ups.  Can I get rid of this feature somehow?

Messenger Plus! does not support doing this. Since Messenger Plus! includes a sponsor to generate revenue it is only fair that Microsoft is able to generate a revenue from their ads.

Some skins include a hidden setting that will allow you to remove the ads. A-Patch is an application that will modify the executable and remove certain aspects of the interface that you have selected. Keep in mind this is against the terms of use you agreed to upon installtion.
