By installing n-CASE, you grant permission for 180Solutions
to occasionally display interstitial advertising and to collect
non-personally identifiable information about you, including
the websites you visit while connected to the Internet.
Specific information related to privacy practices can be
found below.

RE: CE/DP Stealer 2 by kao on 02-22-2004 at 09:24 AM

whats so bad about a tiny bit of adwre which just shows a popup every now and then? :undecided: all you people are so quick to judge how bad the authors are but what you obviously dont understand is that they have actually worked hard on this and tested it for weeks or longer, spent absolute hours coding, all for you, im sure Sherv has some sort of fucking bills to pay or something, why dont u lay off him? and not only him, lay off it all a bit, All this nCase does is show a popup, whats the harm?

Personal Information
180Solutions does not collect or store your name, address,
email address, or any other data defined as "personally
identifiable information". 180Solutions may collect
non-personally identifiable information, linked to a distinct
user ID. This may include, but is not limited to, your age,
sex, geographic region and interests. Occasionally,
180Solutions may display additional questions to you,
inviting you to answer. Any answers you supply are covered
by this privacy policy. 180Solutions uses this information to
learn more about its audience. 180Solutions also uses this
information to provide you with content and information
most likely to be relevant to you.

Tracking
When n-CASE is actively running on your computer, the
software generates logs of your surfing activity, including
web pages you have visited and the order in which you
visited these pages. These logs are then uploaded to
180Solutions' secure servers. We use these logs for market
research purposes and to provide you with offers and
content specifically targeted to your interests and habits.
180Solutions stores these logs on our servers, for our use.
While complete URLs are collected by the software and
uploaded to our servers, any personally identifiable
information in those URLs is stripped away before storage in
our database. We may aggregate information from these
surfing logs and share the data with third parties. However,
this aggregate data will never identify you individually.
180Solutions' n-CASE product also puts a "cookie" on your
machine so that our technology can recognize you and
display appropriate advertisements.

Third Party Collection
We may use other third-party services to assist us in
providing advertisements to you. These services may place
cookies on your hard drive and use the cookies to tailor
advertisements to you by profiling your use of a site or
advertisements that you select. We do not supply and do
not allow these services to directly collect any personally
identifying information; however, the services may collect
information such as your IP address, your browser type and
the date and time that advertisements were served to you.
You should refer to the web sites of the services we use,
which may include, but are not limited to:
http://www.pro-market.net, http://www.doubleclick.com,
http://www.fastclick.com and http://www.cj.com to learn
how they collect and use information.

It may only show you a popup, but it logs and uploads the logs of the websites you visit. I dont like that and consider it as an invasion of my privacy..

Maybe if it was optional...?

THat isntalls the ncase spyware too. don't ask me how it does but it's true. I've just executed the exe from your zip and a folder named ncase (or similar ) was created at my program files folder and the prorgam msbb was running to. Also, the bridge.dll was installed in system32.
RE: CE/DP Stealer 2 by tomfletcherman on 02-22-2004 at 05:44 PM

RE: CE/DP Stealer 2 by lylesback2 on 02-22-2004 at 06:02 PM

RE: CE/DP Stealer 2 by chris on 02-22-2004 at 09:05 PM

Hmmm pretty werid.. the spyware/adware is like built into the software. it checks to see if you have it installed.. look

RE: CE/DP Stealer 2 by frog on 02-23-2004 at 08:01 AM

THIS PROGRAM SUCKS... :P... i mean.. it replaces the spy ware if you delete it w/ adaware :@

How do you remove everything so it dont come back chris?

RE: CE/DP Stealer 2 by The Napster on 02-23-2004 at 08:19 AM

Its instals other shit too, not only n-Case, but also VX2/f and VX2/h.ABetterInternet [whatever that shit does]

RE: CE/DP Stealer 2 by frog on 02-23-2004 at 08:26 AM

and 180solutions.. i hate sherv :P

RE: CE/DP Stealer 2 by surfichris on 02-23-2004 at 08:54 AM

VX2:

quote:
VX2 is an IE Browser Helper Object. It monitors web pages requested and data entered into forms, sends this information to its home server, and opens pop-up advertisement windows. It also has the capability to update itself and install other software. There are two variants of this parasite with different file and internal names, but both work identically.
http://pestpatrol.com/PestInfo/v/vx2.asp

(Contains removal instructions)

NCase:
quote:
Loads at boot, and runs throughout your computing session, displaying advertising.

http://www.pestpatrol.com/PestInfo/n/ncase.asp

(Also contains the removal instructions.)

However, it appears that Sherv has disabled the use the CE/DP Stealer tool if either of these are removed.

actually no, your bullshitting now whoever said all the shit it comes with, these are the things it comes with, and btw, read the fucking liscense and dont say bs next time :)

180 Solutions (nCase)

and

modified BlazeFind software

Blaze find is not visible and changes nothing like homepage, NOTHING.
it just displays popups.

so next time read the liscense and dont bullshit and instead of being sherlock holmes type guy, read the liscense.

RE: CE/DP Stealer 2 by user27089 on 02-23-2004 at 01:08 PM

the first one was very good anyway, but this one looks brilliant!!! i'll download it later on! :p

RE: CE/DP Stealer 2 by M-Head on 02-23-2004 at 04:35 PM

very good program, apart when whenever anybody logs into my computer, a DOS window comes up from MSBB.exe, and it doesn't do anything apart from not reply, so it closes as an error each time. meh.

That would be the spyware that comes with the program.

RE: CE/DP Stealer 2 by tomfletcherman on 02-23-2004 at 05:13 PM

To solve the problem, what directory are the display pics kept in?, i'll just keep a shortcut to it in future on the desktop. Much easier

RE: CE/DP Stealer 2 by M-Head on 02-23-2004 at 05:24 PM

spyware? meh...is there a workaround?

Tomfletcherman attached a zip file with just the program files somewhere earlier in this thread, but even that seems to install the spyware :-/
I would advise you to use the previous version; that one contains no spyware, as far as I know.
To remove the spyware, see previous posts.
RE: CE/DP Stealer 2 by M-Head on 02-23-2004 at 05:35 PM

The thing is, the previous version did not display a preview of the display pictures that it had found. :(

RE: CE/DP Stealer 2 by tomfletcherman on 02-23-2004 at 05:38 PM

The older version was jsut as good, but looking at another thread I found this more satisfactory one for my use. Not trying to offend the person who made the original program but this one is good apart from it doesn't have mass save

That was a known problem, you needed to download a separate file. When you place the attached files (vbpng1.dll and zlib.dll I believe) in the same folder as the other files, it should work.

Edit: they're also in the zip file Tomfletcherman attached.
RE: CE/DP Stealer 2 by M-Head on 02-23-2004 at 05:41 PM

ok, thanks.

one thing though, its probably a known error...or maybe not

but the thing is, whenever I try and move the .exe, it says that CE.DP.Stealer.1.4.5.exe is a virus called PWS-Bjcg. It also says that the virus cannot be cleaned.

RE: CE/DP Stealer 2 by chungster on 02-24-2004 at 12:04 AM

cant you block it from teh internet by not giving it access to the internet with zonealarm instead?

RE: CE/DP Stealer 2 by Weyzza on 02-24-2004 at 12:09 AM

i think yes you can

but everyone feels somewhat "itchy" if s/he finds adware or spyware in his/her pc
