Hiding the inserters should make a noticable difference in the loading time of the newthread/reply/edit forms. None of the buttons/menus/javascripts will be loaded.
Just wanted to make sure everyone knew about it...

it really makes a difference! and most of us dont use these buttons as we know them all

Still would love to edit posts in the quickreply box, but wall, the alternative seems fairly quick compared to the original one.
