O.P. time and date posted, search and rules
Perhaps this forum would benefit from less bumping of old threads by making the "date posted" thing a little more visible to everyone, and the same deal with the search feature and the rules page.
Just my idea, but seeing it tucked away down the bottom there, doesn't look like many new users watch it. There might be bugs in this idea but the point is making less old threads reappear at the top of the thread list because some guy with only one post asks a question that has already answered or gives praise to some old script or whatever.
A few people may have seen me bumping an old thread (especially Dazmo), maybe I did it unconsciously, maybe it was because I didn't see the date the last post was posted. My error is a good example.
I do not wish to pick a fight or whatnot, but mainly suggest something that could help new users to post fight and NOT get flamed for bumping old threads. If you flame people, more people will start to dislike you.
This is just my opinion, and I certainly don't want anyone to regard this as one of those "yearly raves". I am merely suggesting something.
That is all.

RE: time and date posted
I PURPOSELY bump old threads because they have room for development, like Post your computer, and Favourite city in the world. I would say its completely unneeded. Currently, its not in a bad spot, and you just need to be more careful.
What I was going to suggest was to have the post number of the thread and the post number itself more visible, as it can provide better use of them.

I'm talking about new users, how they get flamed and stuff.

i think its fine the way it is, if an old forum thread got bumped, oh well, let the mods take care of it.

TBH, I wish you didn't bump that.
Old threads are, well, old! They contain out-of-date information, which can lead to confusion, because people often don't realize when a thread from 2003 has been dug up and revived.
Just look at all the broken images in the "Post your computer" thread. The web is a dynamic place, and content is always being moved and deleted, breaking existing links in the process.

O.P. RE: time and date posted, search and rules
Well, ignoring the time/date thing, maybe make the rules page a bit easier for new users to see, eg. when they register they need to go through the rules (though I think I saw a link to them somewhere when I registered, I wouldn't know, I don't make multiple accounts) before they go on to finalising their account. Usually people would look where the actual forum is, not where the member list is (what new member would need/want to use that?), because the forum is where all the action happens.
Again, I'm not trying to rant or anything, just suggesting something...

Well, that particular thread is OK.
But still, peoples' opinions may change...
