web hosts do that a lot, they say

"you can have upto 500MB of space"

when they only have 10gb of space.

so instead of just hosting 20 people, they will only allocate something like 50MB of guarenteed space for the person, on the premise that not everyone will use their full space

heh...if this whole Gmail thing is true, i might want to sign up for it...

The Domain Name ending for Google Mail is gmail.com, because if you go to the site and just enter Username as "Test" and Password as "Test", it returns:
Username and password do not match. (You provided test@gmail.com)

Spymac (a free e-mail provider that's pretty unknown) provides now (starting from yesterday) 1 GB mailstorage.

There's no way on hell they can provide 1GB of storage for millions of users. They probably won't allow attachments or something. Or they'll lower the limit after they'll get a little bit of mass-abuse.

And I suspect they won't even allow sorting your mail...
