And you would be saving somewhere around $200 if you waited until Longhorn is officialy released and used a pre-alpha build dual boot.

did u see what his comp could take? 384 max.
i really don't think you need to upgrade. is there any reason you NEED to upgrade, or u just want to for shits and giggles?
and blade: we know u have longhorn, and we know u like it. good for you. but stop turning everythread into a discussion about ur pre-alpha OS....

RE: Windows Xp Home or Pro
to my understanding, Win XP Pro has better networking, easier to use etc, and a few other things related to user accounts/login things i think. Mostly minor things, but i prefere XP Pro

RE: Windows Xp Home or Pro
I'm stuck with a s!@# school laptop, so I can't upgrade anything. I'm looking at buying a desktop computer. I would suggest something more than 192mb of RAM for Winblows XP, since it's not as compact as other versions. Another option would be to go with Windows 2000, which might not look as nice, but runs just as well.

RE: Windows Xp Home or Pro
home is just fine unless ur gona b using the extra stuff on pro which is mainly networkin/file sharing and user account stuff
if ur the only one using the comp and not on a network i see no point in gettin pro
LH is good tho but i wouldn't sujest it, and it would not run on ur comp so i doesn't even matter. btw don't knock LH unless you have tryed it
