heh...

well, i think this is the fault of a stupid MS employee, I dont think MS' policy is to use pirated software....

whats going to happen is that MS will pay money to the company that is developing soundforge...and thats it...thats what BIG companies do... :P

And kiddies....using "M$" doesnt make you look cool.... since i bet all of you would love to have a job in Microsoft after college... :refuck:

I'd just like to point out that Microsoft outsource alot of there work like that to other companies. As the sounds are just loops they could have easily purchased them through a stock sound exchange website and bought the licensing rights to them - or they could have contacted another company to do them then once again bought the rights to them.

Therefore, meaning it would be the responsibility of the company which the work was sourced to, or the company they bought them off.

The same applies for all of the photography on the Microsoft site, its all done by photographers and Microsoft buys them as "stock" images.

Or they could just say that the employee made them on a personal computer at home.... for what I know, as much as they may hate it, they can't control what their employees do at home :P

RE: Warezed SoundForge files in Windows Media Player
What's wrong in using SoundForge, a professional program, to make some sounds/loops and then distribute them into another software packet???? Nothing, this is perfectly normal and legal...

As for the nick Deepz0ne, it is true that he was the founder (together with Sandor) of a warezgroup named Radium, specialized in cracking musicsoftware.

But, as you know nicks aren't something unique though, so this can be quite a (dodgy) coincidence. Of course, all the MS haters jump directly to the "warez-conclussion" anyways....

Was there an illegal version being used by a stupid, dodgy Microsoft employee (note: "employee", thus not Microsoft Company!)? Maybe, or it could be that the makers of WMP bought a loop from another company which used an illegal cracked version, just like Chris explained:

Also, there are some other possebilities. As said, a nick isn't something unique, and some of the employee's could've used this nick for "fun" to register SoundForge and forgotten about it.

Or, as pointed out on the original German forum, it could also be a kind of (dodgy) easteregg from the makers of WMP. MS is know to put such (dodgy) things in their files and programs (remember the blank BSOD screen when you put about:Mozilla in MSIE?).

Anyways, this news has already reached MS for sure, so wait for what they might say instead of jumping to conclussion and generalizations like "See, I always new M$ sucked and did illegal and dodgy stuff, they should be sued like hell"....

Note that these things (if it was an illegal practice by an employee) also happens in other companies, Microsoft is certainly not the only company! But of course, everything bad related to MS reaches the whole world in an instant....
