O.P. Suggestion: Why banned?
I think it would be a good idea to make available in the profile of a banned member why was he banned and if it was permanent or not...

No. Just No. Various people get banned for various reasons and the general public does not need to know why they were banned. It is a personal issue between the person who was banned and the forum admins/mods.

I don't agree to either...I think it would be a good idea to ban members and then send an e-mail telling them why, if they don't know why they are banned it seems pointless, imo.

I think I'll start coding an automatic e-mail for when a mod bans someone.
Edit: Done. It's optional though... the mod/admin who bans you doesn't have to send an e-mail. Still, it's much faster than informing banned users manually.

I think that its a generally good idea and should be added, i mean, just a small text box, or even some options, or an 'other' option where you type, like some radio buttons??? It would be a good idea, and doens't need an essay, just...
"rude to staff" or something?

Yeah, I'm not saying any specific mods\admins but in general, many will just ban and not care what the user thinks, which is just punishing without a reason which is stupid. The whole easy to pick an option will make it easier for the mod\admin... |
