I recently installed the 3.51 update and now my msn messenger will not start up. The msn icon does show in the taskbar but does not open up in a window. I also noticed in the Task Manager that 3 different prcesses all relating to Messenger Plus. Here they are:
MPlus3_setup.exe
MsgPlus-351.exe
MsgPlus.exe
I tried disabling each one by one but the only time i can get it to run is if i end task MsgPlus.exe. I also have some CustoMess patches applied. I am running windows xp sp2 and I have admin privilages. Can anyone help me?

Where did that one come from? Are you sure it was from an official source?

The fact the setup is still running means that it isn't finished yet!

When I tried to install 3.51 over 3.5.0.124 I had exactly the same problem.  Only on my system (Windows XP SP2, Messenger 7.0.077) it completely locked up windows.  The only way I could get Messenger to work with Plus 3.51  at all was to completely uninstall Plus 3.51 AND Messenger 7.0.0777 and reinstall them.  Seems to be working now but I lost all of my Plus! preferences.

The processes you have are the setup of Messenger Plus!, just restart your computer and launch the setup again, that should take care of the problem

hello, my msn makes an error when i want to start it ... without Messenger Plus it works... i've already restarted and installed the old plus over the new ... but still error

wat error u r getting..? give some explanation....

azur if it's the missing contact list error you should know that the msn server has been expriencing some trouble today.

but i think its not an contact list error as his msngr starts withouth plus...... as he said...

YAY! Thanks guys. I restarted the computer and ran the setup again. Its working like normal now. Thank god i didn't have to uninstall plus and loose all my plugins and preferences.

Yes it is from the official source. I think its just part of the setup wizard thingy.
