to run Windows XP 64 bit, you need a 64-bit processor such as an AMD Athlon 64.

Even though the title goes "Pentium 4 540", the specification says "Pentium 4 650" (and it is 650 that is 3.40 GHz) ... 6xx CPU's support EM64T, so I guess you can run Windows XP Pro x64 Edition on it

Mass marketing by Intel falls over again.  Unlike the Athlon64 (which you can tell is 64bit) the Pentium 6xx series doesn't have the EM64T tag at the end all the time.  All Pentium Dual Core are also 64bit aswell but again, not a lot of people know that.
