"Access Denied" is a message that would be displayed by Windows, not Messenger Plus!. Select all your files, right click on them, go to Properties, then Security, then Owner, select your account and click OK. Once done, go again in Properties, Security, click on Add, type the name of your account, click OK, then for your account, select "Full Control" and click OK again.

If you follow these steps properly, it should give you back access to your files. If the Security panel doesn't display the proper options to do those operations, either try working with the basic security settings or in your Explorer, go to Tools\Folder Options, click View and at the bottom of the lick, disable "Use simple file sharing" (and restart Windows).

When you double lick on your chat logs, ehat exact message do you get? (a screenshot would be the best I guess).

This error message seems to have little to do with Messenger and Messenger Plus!. It looks like an error message shown when you use the NTFS file system and do not have enough permissions to access the file.

Ensure that the file permissions are correct. If you are using an administrator account you should be able to regain ownership over the files, which should resolve this issue.

It can not be opened in other computer 'cause the keyes for encryption are on your hard-disk.

edit: are you sure you didn't format the drive your operating system is? how exatly did you reinstall windows?

If you did format, there is NO WAY you can recover those files Impossible.
