Not true, Google was "born" on September 7, 1998. That was the day Google was online, today has no significance as a birthday of any sort for Google.
They may be late to put it up, but it's certainly an achievement as Google has become so popular in such a short amount of time.

surly they wouldnt just choose a rondom day to do it, they would have just done it on the day
