Hi I'm new to Messenger Plus and my name is Alex but please call me 'Webstern'.

Everytime I want to use Messenger Plus I have to install it everytime but I don't know if thats what you have to do.

Please tell me how to make it stay on? instead of installing it all the time

Are you installing it on an administrator account or on a restricted users account?

what do you mean?

He means are you trying to install Messenger Plus! on a restricted User on Windows XP. e.g. You can have an admin account or a restricted one.

If you have no users and Windows automatically starts to Windows when you turn it on most likley your using Windows 98 or an earlier OS. Please note that Plus! is not 100% compatiable with Windows 95.

I have Windows XP and I also have msn on it and yes I have downloaded it it's just that when I shut down my computer  have to install it all the time

It's not that Messenger Plus! is uninstalled everytime you restart your computer, it's just that it doesnt run/hook when needed. You should try the "alternate hooking" mode.

To do so, first run Messenger Plus!, so open your windows explorer and go to C:/Program Files/Messenger plus! 3 (or wherever you installed it ), and double click the msgplus.exe file.

Now close and reopen your contact list and the plus! menu should be there. Now go to Plus > preferences > miscellaneous. Under Messenger Plus! Automatic Recovery Options, set it to "Alternate". This should solve your problem .

I have done all the preferences thing and contact list but there is no Misc. at all

are you running the latest version of messenger plus? (3.62.14)
if so, then you SHOULD have the miscelaneos tab, just look at this picture:



in the highlighted menu, select "alternate mode".

Maybe it will be easier if I had one of your email address'

Yeh I went to the part (picture above) but The default mode stayed the same and I couldn't change it

what do you mean? it didnt let you change it? You should be able to put it in alternate mode, then click the Apply button and OK...
