For the xxth time.. Everybody will get a message window saying you have to update. And if it will be released it will surely be posted on this forum, mess.be, or any other site related to MSN Messenger/Windows Live Messenger.

You'll receive a auto-update via WLM. Managed testers can expect a email and a newsgroup posting.

looks like a lot of people are experiencing difficulties with the updating . It gets installed over and over again for some .

btw: just sign out and then back in to be asked to update .

edit: keeps installing the 562 version over here
edit2: 3th time now this isn't fun anymore

Same here

I looked on the live ideas site to see if the file was there, but that's still the old one...gah..why don't they give an option to safe the file?

Edit: the second and third time i tried it gave option to either repair or uninstall

Where are you downloading it from? I keep trying ideas.live.com but it still has the old version.

i got it from the auto update

For those who have problems updating to the new .566 build...

- Run WLM auto-update first, it might just work for you in one time without doing anything extra.

If it doesn't work (WLM keeps on telling you there is a new version even after you upgraded)

- Some people reported running auto-uppdate again and then choose "Repair" works. This didn't work for me, but you can try it.

This worked for me:
- Run auto-update again, keep the installer open.
- Go to "Start" > "Run..." > Type "%TEMP%" in the box > "OK". Copy - Look for the WLM .566 installer .exe (filename is random, look for filesize around 13 or 14MB).
- Copy the installer to your desktop to make sure it won't get deleted.
- Close the .566 installer.
- Uninstall WLM.
- Run the .566 installer from your desktop.
