O.P. Digital mp3 player problem.
I bought a digital mp3 player(512mb) day-before-yesterday. Today when I formated it, its size was reduced to 245mb . Now i can't understand how to bring it back to 512mb .
Any help would be appreciated.

RE: Digital mp3 player problem.
I'm not really sure about mp3 players, but are you sure that it actually only holds 245mb, try and put a 300mb file or something on it because it's true amount of space migh be 512, but the format area may say 245. (Not sure if that will work or not, just have a go)
If not, then I'd take it back to save any hassle, it is basically brand new, so you may aswell .

RE: Digital mp3 player problem.
Try formatting it to FAT, if it isn't.

When you format it, you get to choose a filesystem, you should be able to choose FAT32. quote: Originally posted by -!Felu!-

RE: Digital mp3 player problem.
try formatting from your player not your pc (if it has the option)

RE: RE: RE: Digital mp3 player problem.
I can't help with this (sorry!) but it probably is a fault with the filesystem. Not to mention that most MP3 players have a file called settings.dat which is hidden and marked as system, it's only deletable when the disk is formatted - could have something to do with it.

IIRC, you can't format filesystems smaller than 512mb (proper mb) as FAT32.
