I agree with Lysp here.
Actually there is nothing changed (much) in that aspect...
As UTI already said, if you choose to sort by date your logs will still be saved as "email@address.com.txt" and will still be archived by date.
However,

I like my logs to be in a single file with no splitting, for example if im trying to find an address/url/phone number has sent me i can look through one file instead of 1 file per month.
Disabling the archiving is not possible anymore. Logs will always be archived. The reason for that is probably that logs can become massive when you don't archive/split them and they will in notime render totally useless because of their size (it would slow down everything in Messenger). Though you can adjust the subdirectories to where the files are archived by altering a registry key.
(EDIT: you can even alter it in such a way that it looks like no archiving is done, for that you need to define that registry setting to empty single quotes; see next posts)

So actually, there isn't a way of not to group conversations by date?
Yes, just as in Plus!3 choose to archive by email and your logs will be grouped by email instead of by date.

I simply want the .txt-file to be 'someguy@hotmail.com.txt' in my 'Chat History' map
Then choose to archive by date.
(PS: make up your mind what you want though

I also like to know whether there is a possibility to save logs both as plain text and as XHTML...
Requested before and no, not possible for now.

How are you supposed to open the .PLE files that are now saved as the HTML format? What application will recognize them?
This is off topic to the thread's subject. Please don't go off topic.
Anyways, PLE files are encrypted chat logs (they can both be text as XHTML of course). You need to open them with Messenger Plus!.
Normally when you install Plus! PLE files should automatically be associated with Plus! and thus you can simply double click on them to open them (you also need to correct password of course).
