Hello,

one of the users of the spanish community has this problem but we haven't found a way of helping him. Maybe one of you can help us:

He has Windows XP (with a theme that looks like Vista) and WLM 8.0.0792.00 (he's now trying with 8.00.0812). His problem is that after installing Plus Live (4.11.0.254) no Plus menu or icon appears in his WLM. See screenshot: http://img166.imageshack.us/img166/7913/windowslivemessengeriu7.jpg

We told him to uninstall both programs, reboot and try again; but it seems not to work. And he's doing all that within the admin account. He doesn't get any error when installing WLM or Plus.

Any idea? Thanks.

does he have sweetim, smiley central or msn content plus?(or any other third party thingo like MDX)

msgslang(2).dll or similar error, if any?

Check that swetim or smiley central is installed, if it isn't, was it ever previously installed.

If all else fails, best off having a look here to find intructions and link to solve the problem

doesn't always have to be an error, things such as sweetim and smiley central are big problems when users ask us on IRC (when I'm there anyway )and about 80% of them have sweetim or smiley central either installed or installed previously. And a reinstall normally does the trick, so go add/remove programs, remove both WLM and MP!L, delete the MSN Messenger and MP!L folders in C:\Program Files\ and then reinstall both programs again.

yeah i don't know why but i thought he said he didn't have any other addon

well, let's see if uninstalling that crap solves his problem
