When you install MsgPlus!, try to right click the installation file and choose "Run as administator".

Also, if you navigate to where you installed WLM (C:\Program Files\MSN Messenger?). Is there a file called "msimg32.dll"?

There is indeed a file by that name.

I have tried that "Run as Administrator" option but I'll try once more.

As all other paths have come to a dead end, I'd like to try going down the path of that "msimg32.dll" file.

well if that msimg32.dll file is there I guess it might be just something to do with your setup, why is unknown but I'm more likely to think now that it's something to do with your setup. Having not used Vista that often it's hard for me to say...maybe someone who uses Vista on a regular basis might know a bit more.

I suspect this to be to do with the drivers that my graphics card uses for Aero. It's the only difference I can think of that may have caused this.

Sometimes when I start WLM I get a BSOD (blue screen) complaining about a dll file linked to my display drivers.

I shall try disabling Aero first, and if that fails I'll go back to my previous non-Aero drivers.
