Both me and my brother logged in our own Windows accounts after 5th June and saw Contest had been disabled. Then I have installed 4.23 on my own Windows account, and contest button came back for me. But in my brother's Windows account it was still disabled. We manually delete ContestEnabled key from registry but this may be a really bad problem for some people who are not familiar with computers very much. What can be done? Simply MsgPlus! 4.23 should be installed on every Windows accounts which Contest button is disabled.

Why update from a 4.22 version all the way to a 4.23 version? Why not just make it a minor update so it's 4.22.xxx or whatever.

That said, I'm not completely familiar on how the "updating number game" works, so that would be nice to know how...

It probably would make some sense, but in Messenger Plus' history, it's hasn't been done that way. There are almost no updates that have been released with only the last version number segment changing, and there has been an update that kept the exact same version number as the previous release as well.

I guess that the larger change in the version number makes the update clearer to more people, as with some programs, the last segment of a version number is practically useless (I imagine that this is the case for Messenger Plus users, perhaps the full number is useful for development purposes).

NB that this is not how the updating number game works, it's my personal interpretation only.
