Hi,

Every time MsgPlus is running when I start MSN Messenger, I get the following message:


"Program Error

msnmgr.exe has generated errors and will be closed by Windows.
You will need to restart the program.

An error log is being created."


I only have Windows 2000 so I have MSN Messenger 7.0 and Msg Plus 3.63... I've been using it for years though so I don't know what happened in the last two days.

I would put the error log here if you could help me but I don't know where to find it.


edit: This is an error message I get after I ctrl+alt+del MsgPlus, and open it AFTER MSN Messenger is already open:

"DrWatson Fatal Error

Dr. Watson was unable to attach to the process. It is possible that process exited before Dr. Watson could attach to it.

Windows 2000 returned error code = 87
The parameter is incorrect."

I'm not entirely sure what this Dr. Watson is, but looking on the Microsoft site, it's a program which "creates a text file (Drwtsn32.log) that can be delivered to support personnel by the method they prefer."

So maybe if you post this log file we may be able to help?

Also, to use Msg Plus!, you have to start it before you open MSN Messenger.

Thanks. Yeah, MsgPlus is usually running on Startup. I was just exasperated so I was trying everything. The Dr. Watson thing only occurs when I try to start MsgPlus after MSN is already running. Because I checked the Dr Watson file, and nothing has been modified since yesterday, but I received the same "msnmgr.exe has generated errors" message when I tried MSN (with MsgPlus already running) today.

The only way I can use Messenger is if MsgPlus is NOT running. It's weird though... none of the sounds play now either. Even though I have the option checked. Whenever I  get new mail or someone signs in... total silence.

Anyway, thanks though. I may have to go without MsgPlus somehow, heh.

Have you installed anything since last two days (programs, script for plus)? If an error occurs, dipend securely from a user operation

Nope, the problem was there before I installed anything new. I fixed the sound thing, but I still can't use MsgPlus.

I was just doing a routine Registry Cleanup with Ashampoo (I've used it long before the problems started) when I noticed it had found four orphaned sound files in the Messenger Plus! Plugins folder. So I guess that's why the sound wasn't working. Then I went to the Plugins folder and found that it's completely EMPTY, except for Developers.txt! I uninstalled MsgPlus!, restarted my computer and reinstalled it... but there are still no plugins. I think this may be why I suddenly can't sign in. Does anyone know of a different place I can find a complete setup download for MsgPlus! 3, or at least the plugins?
