In school I connect through cable modem or dsl i think. So How do i check if i need the proxy settings

just leave it as it as tbh, if you want something adding then ask your IT technicians.

Well they go tme kinda woried that I wont be able to connect back to myschool after I format and I dont want to then have to ask some IT guy at school and he would see what Ive done so thats why im asking here....

Yeah im on version 5.40.. closest they have is 5.2 and 5.5 is immune. Got a bit worried when I read the disclaimer.

Another option, if you don't want to get into dodgyness with your school: put a ubuntu live cd in. Even if the CD drive isn't set to a higher boot priority than the HDD, you can usually press F12 and get into the boot menu, then once you've got ubuntu loaded, maybe there is a program for Linux that lets you partition your HDD without reformatting it, you can create a new partition and install whatever on it. Then when it is time to give the laptop back, just get rid of that partition.

OR, never shut it down, just put it on hibernate instead of turning it off?

That application does not interfer with this forums rules, as it does not allowe you to bypass a serial or trial protection, ie. it's not warez / crack. It's a patch. Just like you remove the ads on WLM, this one removes the protection on Deep Freeze.

Of course, I hope you don't do anything wrong with it. You should look over before jumping into conclusions.

And one last thing, you know there is google.com?

EDIT: And in general, if you have any experince with patces / warez etc, that's usually what all the disclaimers says.
