Is it really sucking up bandwidth? If the modem gets a few packets of activity, that would have a negligible effect on your bandwidth but still make the modem flash.

It might be the encryption... sometimes the connections acts a little bit weird with some encriptions. Disable for some moments the encription and browse and see how it goes....

It did actually. What i meant by that statement was that D-link products are crap and are always having problems and i think you should get rid of the junk instead of trying to fix it. My d-link router had a problem i even sent it back to them to fix it. They could not even fix it.
