quote: Well, my point is: it's not very clear on the homepage... and that it's "just an ad proggy" might not be clear to people that do not visit this forum and that don't know so much about computers.
Ignorance is no defense for well anything. The Agreement you had to agree to download the sponsor program made it very clear it was an ad program, also the link that told you what was new in 2.10.36 made it clear it had an ad program and that it ws optional.
So if you didn't realise its not because you don't know things about computers its because you were too lazy to read. Lets be perfectly clear on that.

Mayby it is peoples own fault for not paying attention, we thought that programs like this could be safe from the horid spyware that plauges the internet. I know you need to make some money from MP2, the time, effort and love put into the project must be emmense for everyone involved.
Ive been using MP for eons, even since i can remember using messenger. I urge you think carfully about this, very carefully. Id be alot happer if you change m$ banners for you own, anything but ad and spyware.
quote: Patchou, just have one of the mods delete any negative threads concerning the sponser program before you get the chance to read them...jk/quote:
er.. why are you doing this? isnt this a forum to discuss thigns?
Your negativity is exactly what we are trying to stop on these forums......
For Patchou to continue with Messenger Plus, he needs support, not the negative crap you and other people have posted......You have managed to completely ruin this thread.......For the first time in weeks, the attitude and support of forums members was starting to lift.......and you posted exactly what keeps Patchou away.......
We owe it to Patchou to support him, not bring him down........
I have lost all patience with people posting this sort of crap......
3 things you can do:
1. If you don't want the sponsor, then don't install it.....
2. If you don't agree with what Patchou is doing, then stop using Plus......
3. If you only came here to give negative feedback, then go back to where you came from......
I completly agree with this, if you are so UPSET about the sponsor stuff, then don't install it and if you don't agree, then don't use this FREEware, no one is forcing you to.

my friends (not me) no longer have faith in your products, whether or not it truly is optional.
i don't think its a problem so long as people read.
As far as lop is concerned, I am amazed at your ignorance/tolerance of C2Media/LOP.com's previous tactics. Have a read
quote: What is lop.com? Lop.com is a web site owned by C2 Media. It is mainly a pay-per-click search portal where other web sites pay for each click-through to their site via lop. This isn't a terrible idea, but rather than create a quality web site to get surfers to their site and clicking those links, they instead created a program which is labeled variously as an mp3 search program, a porn search program, or some other such thing. The installer turns the user's web browser into a device with a seemingly endless supply of links to lop.com.
I think a much more regular sized window that explains in laymans terms (alongside the licence agreement) what lop does, with a clear boxes that say
[ ] I do wish to install the lop.com software
[ ] I do not wish to install the lop.com software
I'll say it again, I don't care about it being bundled so long as people UNDERSTAND what they are getting into. I hope you understand.

So, it's not spyware...

RE: Messenger Plus! 2.10.36a
I have two points I want to make. (The 2nd may seem a little off topic at first, but you will get the point.)
#1. It is important to note that people often do not say anything when they are happy, however they are very "vocal" when they are not.
Considering that a small amount of people are complaining and that many are saying they are happy & support you (include me in the support),
imagine how many satisfied/happy users there are out there that aren't saying anything.
#2. I saw "Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back" on the Movie Network today, and hearing about these complainers makes me want to
quote the fictious post they did on the internet and direct it at those ignorant, hateful individuals.
"make them eat our 'explicative deleted' which is made up of our 'explicative deleted' that they 'explicative deleted' ..."
Last but not least I want to re-iterate that I completely understand your decision to include these ad programs, and think it is great that you have made them optional.
Just another Canadian here saying keep up the great work. I appreciate it. No wait, WE appreciate it
Shaggie
