RE: [Help] Can WLM 8.5 use Full Transparnt Windows?
lol if you are trying to force glass on WLM shawnz then good luck. TheSteve tried this months ago and found that there is no way of getting somewhere.
All you can ever get is glass on expanded window mode, and you can't control what element it happens to. Everything becomes transparent and all you get is this big ugly mess.
Heres a screenshot of it when we were testing it out on Ev0 back in WLM 8.1 and you can see its pretty much what you have right now.
Ill say it once and and ill say it again. Glass will not be possible until Microsoft puts it in themselves.
Believe me several people have tried and all of them have failed.

So it would be possible if Microsoft put it in
I hope this will stop people asking now there is proof that it can't really be done fully

MS will no doubt put glass in one day, but on terms of being able to control it.......well thats anyones guess. Again we have to wait until MS implements glass in Windows Live Messenger then we can talk about it.

I remember that windows live mail (desktop, beta) was a bit of transparency on toolbar... is this nothing about the UIFiles code?

No I tried that too.
Whether or not WLMD uses Aero is written into the WLMD program itself. Because WLM does not have this yet thats why its not possible.

RE: [Help] Can WLM 8.5 use Full Transparnt Windows?
Crazy thought but...
Does anyone know of the program called foobar2000? It's a media player that allows plugin support. One such plugin is called foo_panels_ui.dll. It can do allll sorts of things to the GUI of the program. One of the things it can do is manipulate vista glass. Vista glass is NOT built into foobar2000 at all, only in the plugin panels ui. It can be actived with $glass(x,y,w,h) or something like that.
Panels UI
So, perhaps through the add-ons feature of WLM (or the scripting engine?), a plugin could be made to achieve the glass effect you seem to want.
This may be helpful, I don't know:
Extend Glass Frame Into A WPF App
Just thinking. It would only work on vista machines obviously, but it would be cool ^_^.

Oh, didn't know you guys made something to enable real glass in WLM. Oh well, it'd be cool, but I guess not possible.
