RE: Cannot sign into the new public beta
I get the same error code.
No matter what WLID, it doesn't sign in. WLM beta doesn't sign in either.
If only I knew what I should put here

To everyone that can't sign-in: Did you install the enitre suite or did you install messenger via the standalone installers that you can find throughout the internet? If you did, then you must install wlcomm.exe.

It's not the wlmcomm.exe (that doesn't even exist), it's wlc.msi that's required, but not only that, also the contact.msi.
I also installed wllogin.msi, and now it works (well with one of my accounts atleast).
It's not possible to install it through the windows live installer in windows server 2003 and windows xp 64bit, so i had to do it that way.

ehm, well i extracted all the files from the wlinstaller, didn't know it was in the msi. (so how can you even manually install that file?)
These are all the files that are in the wlinstaller exe.

RE: Cannot sign into the new public beta
Indeed those are all the files, but wlcomm.exe is installed in C:\Program Files\Windows Live\Contacts. If you take a look in that directory, the file is installed when you run the .msi installer. Without the actuall wlcomm.exe you cannot sign-in because that's the communication tool that grabs your contacts from the server .

RE: Cannot sign into the new public beta
hey guys i cant find my contacts.msi anywhere... that includes the .cache folder and using windows search....
would anyone be kind enough to upload it for me?
thanks in advance...
I'm now currently stuck on a non-working wlm 9.0... can't even find it in add or remove programs... and can't reinstall 8.5 because it's the "older version"... sigh...

In Add/Remove programs it is called "Windows Live Beta (All programs)"
Then when you click on it you have to select "Install/Uninstall" and then uncheck Messenger then click continue
