O.P. Australian prices of windows7? (thread 2)
Volv, why would you get an operating system like home premium... you only get the full of anything, otherwise its stupid...

also, its not affordable... the last operating system that was purchased in my house was XP back years ago, as that was a good and cheap operating system.

And i would buy windows 7 if it was cheaper... its a great operating system... just its not worth $469...

Why was the last thread closed? it was a discussion...

I got Home Premium too. Why would I pay a lot more money for features I don't use? Wouldn't that be stupid?

As for the price, you can be creative even without warez... I ordered from the Amazon UK preorder even while I live in the Netherlands + getting a free copy for being a managed tester.

The additional features in Home Ultimate over Home Premium are marginal. I doubt you would ever notice a difference if you had the two to work with. I'm not claiming to know what you do with your PC, I'm emphasising how minor the differences are.

Edit: Like I said in the other thread albeit in slightly differing context: people are confusing wants for needs.

You pretty much said it yourself, why pay an extra $250 for something you will never even notice exists in the operating system.

It was so good when we had only one option, or only 2 (like it was in Xp's begginning: pro and home)...

I totally agree with that.

Even the upgrade editions are pretty expensive. I mean $40 between ultimate upgrade and ultimate retail is a bit of a disappointment.

For the extra money I pay for Ultimate I could buy myself some more RAM or something.

But hey at least its not like Adobe's pricing on stuff.

Yeah, it's just part of their marketing scheme to pull you into buying a Mac though. With prices like that on their hardware it damn well better be a $29 OS upgrade lol
