Then, one of the last options you have is to go to any Windows Live login page (eg:
http://login.live.com/) and select "
Forgot your password?" and follow the instructions.
In detail:
- On any Windows Live ID site or service sign-in page, click "Forgot your password?".
- Enter your Windows Live ID (=the email you use to sign in into Messenger)
- Type the characters you see in the picture box, and then click "Continue".
- Select "Send password reset instructions to me in e-mail".
- Select the e-mail address where you want the password reset e-mail to be sent (eg: your alternative email), and then click "Continue".
But make sure you can access the email you've selected! Otherwise use the last resort form page as explained below...
- On the confirmation page, click "Ok".
- When you receive the password reset e-mail, click the link in the e-mail to reset your password, and then follow the online instructions.

As a last resort you can request personalised help to rest your password by filling in a validation form as good and as detailed as you can:
https://support.live.com/eform.aspx?productkey=wl...idation&ct=eformcs
But note that resetting your password in this way is not always possible:
- You did not provide accurate information upon creation.
- You did not provide any information upon creation.
- You are unable to remember any detail on your account.
- The information on the account does not match what you have provided.
- You did not provide enough information to validate ownership.
- Thus, before completing the validation page, you should try to provide as much information before submitting.
- Name and email address is never enough for validation purposes.
- Please allow up to 24 hours for a response from our support team.
If you are not able to answer one of the mandatory questions, try anyways as accurate as possible, or else type "n/a" or "I forgot" or something. But as said above, note that chances will get smaller and smaller if you do this.
Also note that stuff like "Country", "State", "Zip", etc, must be the same as listed on your account, thus not necessarily the same as your current/real data. So, if you failed to update those when you have moved, you need to enter your old data.
Also the "Your Internet Service Provider" might be a bit confusing. It must be the name of you internet service provider. Thus don't simply enter "home" or "work", but the actual name of your ISP.
