I think they do.

I have SPNG 2, too.
And I can make their big DP "resized" to 96 x 96 by disabling the feature.

i am a stuffplug + stuffplug ng better tester and moderator on the forum

only you need to have the option your end.

this is how the feature works.

[list=1]
[*]you go to change your display picture
[*]you browse for a image, once found, you select this image
[*]Stuffplug intervines msn messenger trying to resize the display picture, and cuts a step.
[*]the display picture is sent to your contact via protocol
[*]contact displays image (whatever size it is)
[/list]

and your contact sees a non 96x96 display picture
