RE: need help (updated BIOS, comp won't boot)
This happened to one of our computers. It was doing a BIOS update, and my sister clicked something she shouldn't. PC froze, and it "fried" the BIOS.
Before assuming, try the following things (these are what I was told to):
Clear the CMOS (you never know).
Run the BIOS restore disk (the flash program should have given the option to make one prior to the flashing.
Assuming neither of the above worked, the BIOS is dead. You can send your board off for a replacement BIOS, or you can purchase a new one and solder it on yourself (although this requires skill, as you must make sure the solder iron does not touch the board or any or any other parts - if you fail, you have to buy a new board anyway).
However, when I checked these options for my board, the cost of both, wasn't far from a new board, so i got a new board.
