Both or all people who install the patch would need to get a warning before all events and before the install or else it would be against the privacy policy.
There would be no privacy invasion at all, in any way.

Plus, how would it be able to determine between who's allowing it and who's not?
password, white list, whatever; there are lots of possebilities.

It would be against the privacy policy if you connect to another computer without someone on the other end, unless using RDP or something of the like.
1) You never can "connect" to another computer without permission in any way (with a plugin or any other means)
2) Even with RDP or whatever you still need permission.
But you don't need anything like that at all. Such plugin as pruposed is perfectly possible and there wouldn't be any privacy issue (not any security issue) at all.

They do have a RecieveNotify() feature which indeed would be used in such a plugin as pruposed.

For an example write j46kj7lk34hk56kl newname, and and then it will change the nick to newname if the nonsense before was the correct password. Maybe it could specify which emails would be able to change it.
Indeed. And that's how one should make such a plugin, especially with the 'white list' scheme, because the password would be viewable to everybody in a conversation).
