Do you have admin rights on that account (not sure wether such exists on 2000 as i never used it myself)? Or is there anything running on your computer preventing registrychanges (example: AdWatch in AdAware SE)?

Handwriting may or may not work on Windows2000, as said in the thread about the plugin

Could it be that along with handwriting plugin you installed Infopen? If so, go to add/remove programs and uninstall that aswell.
