POSSIBLE SOLUTION

Exit messenger.
Go to C:/Program Files/MSN Messenger and delete "riched20.dll" if its there .
Restart Messenger.

If this works then-

Go to Add/Remove Programs.
Remove Web Search (Smile Central)
