You can just press okay, I'm sure Patchou will take greying out the button into account, but it's not a feature that's really needed.

The preferences are user-defined, so you will always have to be signed in on the email account you want with those Plus! Live settings sorry. None of the preferences are global to all of the users of Windows Live Messenger on your computer.
