Messenger Discovery Live is a buggy Messenger Add-On, you wont see the closed notification on Live Scripts because it is not able to be done to a great standard from what i have seen. Although i use Messenger Discovery Live occasionally i don't advise it to be used, and i think a fair few will agree, but after all, its your decision to make

I also found Messenger Discovery Live's notifications good but i would prefer a bug free script that takes very little space than a program that takes up computer space and CPU to a large extent for just two minor features. Im sure you could do without that one feature, but i guess he has a point that an on and off would be ok for the table that are DESPERATE.
