My friend has Samsung X820, and he got it free with a 1-year contract.
And I think he got it about 2 months ago, so if you are lucky, you can get a cash back (and/or rebate) as well.
I got my K800i for $200 4 months ago. The original price was $400, and because I chose a year contract, my dealer gave me $200 "'commission."
I could have gotten a bigger discount if I chose 2-year contract, but
do not ever choose 2-year contract.
Yes, you'll get the phone cheaper, but 2 years are not short.
