True, because during the beta testing stage, many bugs and errors in the software are found and fixed for the final release. And is it exactly that which leads to using beta software being more harmful than using only released software (that is no longer in beta stage). Which contradicts your statement that there is no harm in using it. The odds of something going (terribly) wrong are larger when using beta software. Of course, they are still very small, but larger nonetheless.

I can remember one particular
normal release of Messenger Plus! that could render your Windows 98 installation useless, not starting anymore after a reboot. And that was not even a beta release. Using software always brings risks, using beta software increases those risks.
