O.P. How? What script is it?
Ok i was on msn last week when a contact told me they would take control of my msn, they obviously used a script, i could not view any chat windows after this, i closed msn and after trying to sign in it said the username or password are not correct, so i switched from windows vista to windows xp and still the same, so i uninstalled Messenger Plus and got straight back on msn, i cannot find any such script on here they could of used.

RE: How? What script is it?
Never ever install scripts if you do not know what they do. Only install scripts from trusted sources (eg: the script database). This is just the same as with programs, you don't go installing programs send to you by random people either.

As for what script it could have been, that is impossible to tell since it would mostlikely be a script made by that person. On this forum or in the script database such scripts would never be allowed.

I know about internet safety, i do programming after all, and i had not installed anything, no scripts were added to my Messenger Plus, all i can see from the chat log is that after i could no longer see i got rows of :@:@:@ ending in a v, seems a bit of a nasty exploitation of Messenger Plus.

Also they was not on my contact list i was added by someone else who also got the same result to their msn at the same time.

RE: How? What script is it?
Then you are requesting/reporting it totally wrong.

If you already knew what caused the freeze, and if you already knew you hadn't had any scripts, then why ask for such a script????

Instead you should have posted this in the bug sectin and reported it as an exploit/bug in Plus!. As such, this thread is requested to be moved to there, so this can be fixed.

Well, that's been copied and pasted. :P
Have you tried re-installing Plus! and trying it again? It might work this time.

Obviously i didnt see any of the last 15 lines, it was still running i could hear the audibles of people talking to me, but the window was not responsive, and as i previously stated, once i signed out and tried to sign in it immediately came up with wrong name or username, allthough other accounts were fine, it was just the one that this happened on. Upon removing Messenger Plus and then re-installing it the troubled account signed in fine.

Moderator note: all text was displayed in one line, but I added line breaks for a decent lay-out

I fail to see how this has anything to do with Plus!. Reinstalling Plus! would not have fixed an incorrect username/password notification, it must be a coincidence.

As to how they did this, it sounds to me like your MSN simply became overloaded with emoticons, presumably the "attacker" was unaffected because (s)he had them disabled. I don't know why you were unable to sign back in though..

RE: How? What script is it?
It may have froozen Plus! because of things like the quote sender which
stores what contacts have said to you. And thus caused an overflow error
or something.

Though, this indeed doesn't explain why you weren't able anymore to sign in
with your account after you restarted Messenger, that makes no sense.
And this might either be coincidence or actually something in Messenger.

Speaking of which, all this might even have nothing to do with Plus!, but everything
with Messenger itself which freezed up. And the reason why you couldn't sign
back in was because Messenger was still not 'reset' properly. The reason why
you could sign back in after Plus! was removed might well be because the second
time you started Messenger, Messenger fixed itself (eg: cleared cached or whatever)
and thus you actually didn't need to uninstall Plus!.

Just thinking out loud here and trying to find an explanation of you not being able
to sign in before Plus! was removed and the fact that it doesn't make sense (to me) that
Plus! would be the cause that you couldn't sign in anymore.

The only way I can think of is that he tried to sign into your account with a fake password and therefore locking it because of too many incorrect attempts. Having done that he knocked you offline with the :@s, and you were unable to log back on.

Also this would probably display a different error.

Well it managed to lag both mine and my friends msn and i phoned him and asked if his had gone he confirmed it, i logged out of vista and into xp which is on a different hard drive and was still unable to sogn in on the affected account, so i tired other accounts and they logged in, so whilst he removed Messenger Plus i created a new user account and still had the same problem of not signing in, he was by this time back on as he had removed Messenger Plus and re-downloaded it, so i removed it from the new account i made and it signed in, so i went bk to the normal account, that still had plus installed and it was fine also, so i logged back into vista  and that was also fine, though this person claimed to have unblocked the accounts, i fail to see how, considering i was a third party to the conversation for like 2 minutes .... very strange indeed.
