O.P. RE: PS3 or XBOX 360 ?
I have an xbox 360, but does anyone else think the console is old generation? For example the CD tray is like old generation in my eyes, similar to the the PS2, the CD tray comes out. When I first came across a Wii or PS3 I was wowed by the fact that it doesn't have a CD tray, you just put the CD in.
The feel of the 360 just seems old and not as well built compared to the others and I was disappointed when I first got it.
Note: That doesn't change the fact that its a good console

I think the console looks great. CD slots where you just push in the disc have been around for ages in motor vehicles (and elsewhere) - they're not very special and I dont think they define a 'next gen' design...
You probably just feel that way because you don't actually have a PS3 or Wii

Personaly, the self loading CD trays do give it a bit more of a next gen edge. Just a bit.

you can't use smaller sized disc on self loading drives..... that sucks! i have about 10 that i can't use on my laptop...
also, if a disc gets stuck for some reason, its REALLY easy to open the tray, unlike the self loading drives.

the wii can play gamecube (mini)discs, so it is possible

Half-height eco-disks don't work in slot-loaders.

Sorry traxor but where are you getting your "facts" from?
Some reliable sources; name, as people have already said, ign, eurogamer, gamespot, several tech guys and of course my own personal experience.
As for the whole slot-loader thing, I agree it is pretty cool, but the Wii one feels so much more durable than the ps3 one.

No but I've had my fair share of play-time on all of the current (and previous) consoles. I've owned all of the Sony consoles, owned an Xbox & Xbox 360. I preferred the PS2 to the Xbox, it was better.
