I'm a bit confused about this 2011 and such so I want someone to explain a few things

I'm running WLM2009 on my laptop.

If I install WLM2011 on my computer, It will change my display name to my real name on 2009, right? (if they are both on at the same time).

However, if there anyway to make my display name work all the time if I log in with my 2009?

I know when I sign-in to 2011 it changes it, and I have to manually change it back. Can I have 2009 still with my display name as long as I'm not signed into 2011?

Every time you sign in to Messenger 2011 your name will change to your real name, so you'll have to chang it back in 2009 each time if you want your nickname there. If you sign in with 2009 and 2011 simultaneously, not sure what happens, it may be the same as crossing the streams.

But even if you only use 2009, your contacts will still see your real name as long as they are using 2011. Best thing is to just set your "real name" to something you are comfortable with.

Best thing for me to do would be create a script for the 2009 one, and make it change my display name every time I sign-in yeah?

Although as long as WLM2011 is signed in I can't change it.

Why bother? Like I said, if your contacts use 2011 they will still see your real name, even if you did always use 2009 yourself and have it set to your nickname.

Won't take long with Live Essentials 2011 being pushed out over Windows Update as an important update to people who have 2009 installed.

they already have started to push it through windows update and i un-installed the new version and re-installed the old one, the 2011 one sucks

They pushed it through Windows Update to me today.

Is it Automatically ticked?

No. Not yet anyway.
